The Structural CAD Technician will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in computer drafting of bridges and/or other structures. A 2- or 4-year university degree in construction management, engineering or drafting is desirable. Experience must include drafting of concrete and steel structures and extensive familiarity with the Caltrans bridge detailing procedures. The candidate must be fully skilled with AutoCAD and MicroStation CAD software.

The Structural CAD Technicianwill lead, train and mentor the other CAD technician and regulate the production of the project drafting schedule and workload. This lead position entails implementing companywide standards and procedures for uniform production and quality control of engineering plans. The candidate will be capable of laying out bridge plans and other structures independently and create the project "skeleton" sheets for the design engineer. Other responsibilities include performing quantity calculations.
