POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, the design engineer will perform engineering duties in planning, design and inspecting bridges and transportation structures.  Design retaining walls, tieback walls, sound walls, and culverts by providing plan specifications and estimates to private and public agencies such as developers, cities and counties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Mater’s degree in structural engineering or a foreign educational equivalent.

SPECIAL SKILLS:  Education in Structural Analysis, Transportation Engineering, Highways, Railways, and Bridge Design required.
